Abstract

1,252,902. Securing hubs on spindles. PEDIGREE WESTLINE Ltd. 25 April, 1969 [26 April, 1968], No. 19984/68. Heading F2U. A wheel hub 3 is secured on a spindle 11 by a plastics tongue 10 slidable in a transverse slot 8 in the hub, in one position of which the end of the spindle may be inserted through an opening 13 in the tongue and in a second position a reduced portion 14 of the opening engages a circumferential groove 12 at the end of the spindle to prevent axial separation of the members. The sides of the tongue are formed with spring portions 15 which engage two sets of recesses in the slot to prevent accidental withdrawal of the tongue in either operative position.
