Abstract
1,252,610. Animal feeding appliances. G. P. ROSE-MILLER. 20 March, 1970 [3 Oct., 1969], No. 36825/70. Divided out of 1,252,609. Heading AIM. A device for feeding an animal comprises a body 1 which has a threaded recess 2 for connection to a liquid-food containing vessel (not shown), a rubber teat 5 being held by a flange 4 on the body 1. A rod 9 extends through a bore 8 and has at its upper end an enlarged metal portion 10 on which a rubber head 11 is mounted, and a rubber member 13 is mounted at its other end. When an animal sucks on the teat 5, the member 13 is pushed upwards, displacing the head 11 from the spherical seat 12 thus allowing liquid to flow through the bore 8 into the teat 5. The position of the member 13 may be varied by the engagement of a rib 16 with a selected one of the grooves 15.
