Abstract
1,252,540. 4-Aminomethyl bicyclo[2.2.2.]octane-1-acetic acid and derivatives. MERCK & CO. Inc. 15 June, 1970 [17 June, 1969], No. 28938/70. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of formula and salts, esters and amides thereof are prepared by hydrolysis of the N-acyl acid which may be obtained by rearrangement of a diazoketone e.g. 4 - benzamidomethylbicyclo[2.2.2.] - octyl - diazomethyl ketone obtained by reaction of diazomethane with the acid chloride obtained by action of SOCl 2 on the 4 - benzamidomethylbicyclo[2.2.2] - octane - 1 - carboxylic acid obtained by action of benzoylchloride on the 4- aminomethyl acid obtained by reduction of 4- cyanobioyclo-[2,2.2] - octane - 1 - carboxylic acid. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral or parenteral administration and having antifibrinolytic activity comprise an above novel compound and a carrier therefor. A method of treating haemorrhagic conditions in animals with the above compounds and compositions is also claimed.
