1,209,138. N - (α - naphthoxy - isobutyryl) - 6 - aminohexanoic acid. PHARMA CHEMIE. 13 June, 1969, No. 30136/69. Heading C2C. N - (α - naphthoxy - isobutyryl) - 6 - aminohexanoic acid and its salts is prepared by reaction of 6-aminohexanoic acid with α-naphthoxy-isobutyric acid chloride. α - Naphthoxy - isobutyric acid is prepared from α-naphthol, acetone, chloroform and NaOH. α-Naphthoxy-isobutyric acid chloride is prepared from the free acid and SOCl 2 . Pharmaceutical compositions having choleretic, anti-cholesterolemic and anti-atherosclerous activity and in conventional forms for oral, rectal or parenteral administration comprise an above novel compound or salt and a carrier therefor.
