Abstract
1,251,989. Pipe joints. H. G. F. BERGKVIST. 29 Nov., 1968, No. 56836/68. Heading F2G. A guide member 11 for interconnecting the adjacent ends of two drainage pipes to form a drainage conduit in the ground has two spigots 13 which extend from a generally annular member 12 in opposite directions and are adapted to project into and engage the said adjacent ends of the pipes with the member 12 between the pipe ends. The spigots taper on the outer surfaces thereof and are provided on those surfaces with flutes 15 extending substantially axially of the spigots to form passages for maintaining communication between the interior of the pipes and the surrounding ground. The member may be of plastics material, such as polyvinyl chloride, and, as shown, include a branch spigot.
