[Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Polyurethane surface coatings are produced by blending an isocyanate reaction product containing thermally labile urethane groups with a branched polyester resin to form a lacquer, applying the lacquer to the substrate to be coated and curing the lacquer at a temperature of 150 to 350‹C for a time of from 15 seconds to 1 hour. The lacquer may be applied to the substrate by brushing, dipping, flowing or spraying. The coatings are particularly valuable as wire enamels but they may also be used on other metal substrates and on rubber, glass and synthetic textile materials.
