Abstract
1,250,561. Chemical closets. WESTING- HOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. 9 Feb., 1970 [7 Feb., 1969; 4 March, 1969], Nos. 6701/69 and 11425/69. Heading E1C. In chemical toilet apparatus comprising a pan 1 which is flushed by chemical liquid, preferably re-circulated from a tank 3 into which the pan discharges, the tank is equipped with upper and lower sensors 8, 9 which, via a control unit 10, control a macerator unit 4, for discharging the tank 3 when full, and a dosing valve 12 for supplying chemical in the form of tablets to the tank 3 from a dispenser 19, the arrangement being such that when the tank 3 becomes filled to the high level it is first emptied via macerator pump 7 and discharge pipes 5, 6 until the low level is attained, upon which a fresh chemical tablet is dispensed by the closing valve 12. In the preferred re-circulatory system shown a footoperated device 16, e.g. a switch 22, is actuated by the user to energise a flush pump motor 15 of a pump unit 14 to re-circulate chemically treated liquid from the tank 3 via a filter 13 to flush the pan 1. An alarm is adapted to be actuated should tank 3 overfill.
