Abstract

125,045. Homan, F. W. Dec. 23, 1918. Slippers; connecting uppers to insoles and soles; heels.-The upper margin of the covering of the heel of a light house shoe or slipper is extended upwards to enclose the edge of the heel seat of the sole, is located externally of the seam uniting the sole and upper, and is fastened to the sole round the edge of the heel seat. The invention is described as applied to a turn shoe having a covered sole. The heel covering 2, Fig. 1, is cemented over the lowest heel left 1 so as to be covered by the top lift, and its breast portion is also cemented over the seat face of the heel as shown at 3<a>, leaving the margin 3<b> upstanding round the sides and back of the heel. This upstanding margin is secured to the edge of the sole 6 by a seam 4, Fig. 4, which secures the margin of an outer covering 5 of the sole with a sole lining 7 round the edge of the sole. The assembled covered sole and heel, after trimming off the surplus covering above the sea.m 4, are then secured to the upper by a seam 9. The shoe is then turned leaving the seam 4 located externally of the seam 9, as shown in Fig. 1.
