Abstract

1,249,970. Coupler shank wearplate. AMSTED INDUSTRIES Inc. 25 Aug., 1970 [11 Dec., 1969], No. 40875/70. Heading B7T. In a rotary coupler shank, a bottom surface 24 has an elongated recess 22 in which is located a substantially rigid rectangular flat wear plate 20 with a wearing surface 21 which is substantially tangential to curved surfaces 31 of constant curvature adjacent the lower portions of side surfaces 30, the thickness of the wearplate 20 being substantially equal to the depth of the recess 22. The wear plate is retained in place by a continuous or intermittent welded joint 28 along the longitudinal sides of recess 22.
