[Also in Division G2] Compounds of the general formula in which A is a lower alkylene group (C 1 -C 6 ), or a polyalkylene ether group -(OCH 2 CH 2 ) p -, -(CH 2 CH 2 O) p CH 2 CH 2 -, or -(CH(CH 3 )- CH 2 O) p - which is not bonded through oxygen to B; A<SP>1</SP> is lower alkylene (C 1 -C 6 ), or a polyalkylene ether group -(CH 2 CH 2 O) p CH 2 CH 2 - or -(CH(CH 3 )CH 2 O) p CH(CH 3 )CH 2 - provided that A and A<SP>1</SP> are not both polyalkylene ether groups, and p is 2-30; B and B<SP>1</SP> denote -NH- or -O-, not both being -O-; R is lower alkyl (C 1 -C 6 ), phenyl, aralkyl, or -(CH 2 ) q COOR<SP>1</SP>; q is 1-3; R<SP>1</SP> is lower alkyl (C 1 -C 6 ); X is -S-, -O-, -CH 2 -, -CH 2 CH 2 -, -CH(CH 3 )CH 2 -, -N(R<SP>11</SP>)-, or phenylene; R<SP>11</SP> is lower alkyl (C 1 -C 6 ), may be prepared by reaction of a diisocyanate of type OCN.A.X.A.NCO, e.g. S(CH 2 CH 2 NCO) 2 , with an alcohol HO.A<SP>1</SP>.S.R, e.g. HOCH 2 CH 2 - SCH 2 CH 2 COOEt; or by reaction of a diamine NH 2 .A.X.A.NH 2 , e.g. 1,4-di-(aminomethyl)- benzene or CH 3 N(CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 NH 2 ) 2 , or a diol HO.A.X.A.OH, e.g. HO(CH 2 CH 2 O) 13 H, with an isocyanate R.S.A<SP>1</SP>.NCO, e.g. EtSCH 2 CH 2 CO.
