Abstract

124,904. McGowing, J. R. April 9, 1918. Clinometers for use on aeroplanes &c. comprise two weighted wheels a, m at right-angles to each other. The spur pinion b, mounted in the casing, gears with the wheel a and, through the damping-gearing c - - f, operates the spindle g<1>, to which is secured the pointer g. A second pointer p is secured to the wheel m, which also operates the chain of damping-gearing q - - u, mounted in the casing. A disk k is secured to the spindle g<1> and has painted on it a red signal which shows through an aperture in the dial when the aeroplane &c. becomes inverted.
