Abstract

1,248,334. Gramophones. SCHILDKROT A.G. 15 Oct., 1969 [16 Oct., 1968], No. 50694/69. Heading G5R. A talking mechanism for a doll comprises a disc record 20 carrying a plurality of sound grooves arranged in parallel spirals which is angularly adjustable by means of an operating element 80 with the drive switched off so as to start the playback stylus 42 in a selected groove. As shown, each stroke of the bar 80 steps the record 20 by means of a pawl 83 and ratchet (24, Fig. 4) and, through an arm 100, lifts the pickup arm 40 which swings back to its starting position. A rotary disc 50 is driven by a motor 30 and drives, through a one-way clutch 52, 26, the record 20. After a predetermined number of revolutions, a pin 56 tracking a spiral groove 54 in the disc 50 enters a depression 57 so that an arm 55 carrying the pin 56 opens contacts (70, Figs. 5a and 6) in the motor circuit which are opened also during a stroke of the bar 80.
