A multi-layer reversal colour photographic material of a type to be developed in colour developers containing diffusible couplers respectively comprises a support having thereon a redsensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein either (1) only said blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a coupler, the coupler contained being a diffusion-resisting yellow coupler or (2) the said blue-sensitive layer contains a diffusion-resisting yellow-coupler in an amount of 0.0005 to 0À5 mole per mole of silver halide in the blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion and wherein one of the red- or green-sensitive layers optionally contain a diffusion-resisting cyan or magenta coupler respectively. The invention also comprises a process for preventing the colour contamination caused by mixing of cyan or magenta dye in the blue-sensitive layer of a colour photographic light-sensitive material having on a support at least a red-, a green- and a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer in colour developments performed after black and white development with the successive use of colour developers containing respective diffusible couplers for cyan, yellow and magenta, which comprises incorporating a diffusionresisting yellow-coupler into said blue-sensitive layers and optionally a diffusion-resisting cyan or magenta coupler into one of the red- or greensensitive layers respectively. The diffusion-resisting yellow-coupler preferable has the formula:- wherein R 1 is a tertiary alkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted bicycloalkyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group; R 2 is an unsubstituted or substitued aryl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted heterocyclic group; and X is H or a group capable of being split off during the coupling reaction. A yellow dye image of high colour purity is obtained by the process above. Although fog development occurs on the silver halide grains in the blue-sensitive layer during cyan forming development, the oxidiation product of the developing agent re-acts with the diffusionresisting yellow coupler in the blue-sensitive layer rather than the cyan coupler from the developer. Also, by incorporation of the diffusionresisting yellow coupler in the blue-sensitive layer, development in the yellow-forming developer is accelerated and no underdeveloped silver halide grains are left, which results in a reduction in magenta colour mixing in yellow.
