Abstract
1,247,424. Ion-exchange. SOC GRENOBLOISE D'ETUDES ET D'APPLICATIONS HYDRAULIQUES (SOGREAH). 21 Nov., 1969 [21 Nov., 1968; 23 Oct., 1969], No. 57161/69. Heading B1J. An ion exchange unit is filled with exchanger to the levels shown and the body 10 being filled to the cover 15. Liquid to be treated passes in via conduit 28 through zone A and leaves via outlet 23. Rinsing liquid introduced through conduit 29 into zone B out through zone A and strainers 23. Liquid entering through conduit 32 removes a portion of exchange through conduit 33. Exchange is reintroduced at 14 and circulates in the direction given by the arrows to return to the receptacle 21 and repeat of the cycle. Regeneration takes place by liquid entering at 11 and leaving at 13 and washing by liquid entering at 22 and leaving at 13. The inlet and outlet flows are controlled so that the interface between different liquids used in the process is compacted during the movement of resin.
