Abstract

1,246,085. Injection moulding footwear. C.I.C. ENG. Ltd. 24 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 43605/67. Heading B5A. A shoe sole injection mould has an inlet passage located both at its toe and heel end whereby material may be injected through either passage, means at both ends for sensing the presence of moulding material in the mould cavity whereby the injection is interrupted when the mould cavity is full. In Fig. 2, mioroswitches 2 and 4 at the toe and heel ends of a mould are operated by plungers 3 and 6 actuated by moulding material pressure. If, for example, material is fed through the inlet 10, the plunger 6 is replaced by a shorter one and the injection is controlled by plunger 3 and microswitch 2; for injection at the opposite end a strip 13 is raised to clear an opening into the mould cavity.
