Abstract

1,246,004. Roll of film. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. 12 Nov., 1969 [10 Dec., 1968], No. 55395/69. Headings B8M and B8R. A roll of flexible, extensible film comprises a core 3 and a web 2 of said film wound under tension about the core, the core having at each end a coating 5 of a material e.g. paraffin wax, capable of cold-flow under pressure whereby as the inner layers of the web extend laterally due to the pressure of the outer layers, the coating cold-flows to accommodate the lateral movement and prevent curling of the outer layers about the inner layers. The film material is preferably polyvinyl chloride. The coating 5 is preferably from 0À001 to 0À003 inches thick and covers the ends of the core to a length of from 2 to 3 inches. The film preferably overlaps the coating by one inch leaving one inch clear at the end of the core.
