1,245,156. Dust laying compositions. CHEMISCHE FABRIK KALK G.m.b.H. 6 Dec., 1968 [27 Jan., 1968; 4 May, 1968], No. 58076/68. Heading C4X. A method of binding dust in coal mines and the like comprises applying to the surface in a drift a dry hygroscopic salt and a dry finely divided inert material. The substances may be applied simultaneously as a composition or the inert material may be applied first. The hygroscopic salt may be calcium chloride or magnesium chloride. The inert material may be mineral dust, clay or clay mineral, natural or synthetic calcium sulphate, natural or synthetic calcium carbonate, boiler ash, sand, rock salt, or industrial dust with low silica content.
