Abstract

1,244,569. Automatic control of moisture content. UNIDRY K.S. ENG. & DEVELOPMENT GROUP. July 10, 1969 [July 12, 1968], No.34879/69. Heading G3R. A drying apparatus particularly for green crops having a rotary drum and a temperature sensor 19 which adjusts the speed of a conveyer 6 and worm 12, has an additional temperature sensor 20 in the fore part of the drum the output from which is combined, e.g. in equal parts, with that of sensor 19 to control the conveyer &c. speed. On any change of conditions, after a delay e.g. 20 seconds, the spacing of a roller 10 may also be adjusted through a screw driven by a motor and bevel arrangement 15-17. The conveyer may have at least three speeds normal, higher and lower the latter of which may be zero. During normal operation a supply of hot drying air is provided by a furnace 3 and blower 5.
