Abstract

1,244,487. Laminate. DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd. 18 April, 1969 [20 April, 1968], No. 18766/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B1-B2 and C3] A floor covering comprises a surface sheet of a cellular plastics material which has been compressed biaxially by compression forces acting in or parallel to the plane of the sheet and is retained in the compressed state by means of a sheet material adhered to a face of the sheet. Suitably an elastic sheet material is stretched, adhered to the sheet of cellular plastics material and the stretching forces on the sheet are then released. The cellular plastics material is suitably a polyurethane foam which may be reticulated or is a foam of poly-(vinyl chloride), polyethylene or polypropylene. The elastic sheet material may be formed from natural, synthetic or silicone rubbers or stretch fabric.
