Abstract

1,244,206. Television. MARCONI CO. Ltd. 6 Oct., 1969 [14 Nov., 1968], No. 54052/68. Heading H4F. In a colour television camera comprising at least two tubes arranged to receive different colour images from an objective lens via a colour separating optical system, the effects of lag due to different light intensities at the tubes are balanced by interposing a modifying lens in at least one of the light paths from the objective to the tubes to cause the images at the tubes to be of different sizes. Thus, in a three-tube camera (red, blue and green), " positive " or image size reducing lenses may be interposed between the colour separating system and the blue and red tubes, with, or without, a " negative " lens in the green path. Alternatively, a " negative " lens only may be used, in the green path. In a modification, the colour separating system is divided into two parts so that green is initially separated, and a single " positive " lens is inserted in the common (red + blue) path.
