Abstract

[Also in Divisions G2-G3] A light unit assembly comprises a housing 11, a main reflector 12, a metal additive lamp 14, a shutter control means 16 for a shutter unit 17, a fan 15 on the rear of the housing for passing cooling air in through an aperture 51 in the housing and an opening 20 in the reflector 12, and a deflector 24 to prevent direct cooling of the lamp 14. A thermostat 21 controls the fan 15. The shutter unit 17, containing a roller curtain 65, is provided so that the lamp 14 need not be switched off between successive exposures, thus obviating the delay while the lamp 14 reaches its operating temperature.
