Abstract

[Also in Division F1] In an apparatus for supplying a liquid against gravity to a device, particularly a burner, from a remote storage tank, a concentric conduit 11 has an outer bore 12 along which liquid is drawn from the storage tank by a pump 15 and an inner bore 13 along which surplus liquid is returned to the tank. The pump passes the liquid to a T-junction 17 from which some of it flows along tube 18 to the device and the rest to an adjustable pressure limiting valve 19 which prevents excessive pressure in the tube 18 and allows surplus liquid to be forced by the pump 15 through a tube 20, a concentric tube fitting 14 and the inner bore 13 of concentric conduit 11 back to the storage tank. The inner bore 13 extends into the storage tank a few inches further than the outer bore 12 so that air entrained in the circulated liquid does not re-enter the system. The pump 15 is driven by an electric motor 16.
