[Also in Division F2] A winding shaft on which winding tubes can be so positioned that they are in exact alignment with the separate webs produced by a roll-cutting machine comprises a body 1 provided with a longitudinal groove 2 and a stop ring 3. Sleeves 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>11</SP> having stops 5 pivotally mounted thereon are pushed on to the body 1, winding tube holders 6 being situated between the tubes 4 and 4<SP>1</SP>, and 4<SP>1</SP> and 4<SP>11</SP>. The stops 5 are in the form of levers whose stop surfaces form an angle of 135 degrees with setting levers 9; a rod 8 positioned in the groove 2 between the stop ring 3 and the adjacent stop 5 limits pivotal movement of the setting lever 9, and push rods 10 are disposed in the groove 2 between the other stops 5. A spring 11, tensioned by an adjusting nut 12, forces the sleeves and tube holders against the stop ring 3, and each stop 5 is retainable by a detent (Fig. 3, not shown) in a rest position as 5<SP>11</SP>, an operating position as 5, and in an intermediate position as 5<SP>1</SP>. In use, the uppermost stop 5 is first moved into the intermediate position (Fig. 1, not shown) and a first winding tube 13 is pushed on to the winding shaft from the bottom as seen in the drawing, over the stops 5<SP>11</SP> and 5<SP>1</SP> which are in their rest positions, and up to the stop 5 against which it is forced, whereby the stop 5 pivots to the operative position shown and displaces the push-rod 10 resulting in the setting of stop 5<SP>1</SP> into its intermediate position. The stop 5<SP>1</SP> then becomes operative as a stop for the next winding tube, and the same process is continued for further stops. The removal of fully wound rolls is effected in the direction opposite to that used when pushing on the tubes.
