Abstract

1,241,281. Grafted textile materials. FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT FUR TEXTILTECHNOLOGIE. 5 Jan., 1970, No. 458/70. Heading C3G. Textile fibre materials possessing reducing properties are grafted in liquid or gaseous phase with an initiator comprising natural pyrolusite which has been digested with orthophosphoric acid. In the examples, polyamide-6 is grafted with acrylamide in an aqueous solution obtained by heating pyrolusite in the said acid and cotton is immersed in the said solution, squeezed out and grafted with acrylonitrile in vapour form.
