Abstract

1,241,083. Tractor hitch. AGRICULTURAL REQUISITES & MECHANISATIONS Ltd. 16 Jan., 1970 [8 Jan., 1969], No. 1151/69. Heading A1P. A towing device comprises an outer frame 10, pivotally mounted on a tractor chassis about a lateral axis on pins, not shown, passing through lugs 30, 31 on spars 24, 25 welded to the frame 10, the inner drawbar frame 11 pivoted to the front of the outer frame 10 on bolts 72, and fixed to the tractor by a pair of struts engaging lugs 35, 36 on a plate 22 welded to the outer frame sides 17, carries a drawbar 12 which may be reversed in the frame to provide coupling by means either of a hook 81, a clevis, or, with the arm 85 of the clevis removed, with a ball joint 115. Bolts, not shown, pass through holes 98, 99 holding the arm 85 of the clevis in the drawbar. The drawbar is fixed in the drawbar frame by two bolts engaging holes 66 and 67, 68 or 69 in the frame plates and corresponding holes in the drawbar to allow longitudinal adjustment, when the clevis coupling is used, and also to allow adjustment in a horizontal plane. When the hook coupling is in use the trailer eye may be latched in the hook by disengaging a pawl (46), Fig. 3 (not shown), by means of a control rod 51, which pawl holds the drawbar frame 11 fixed inside the outer frame 10, and then pivoting the drawbar frame 11 downwards by means of hydraulically operated links pivoted to spigots 70, 71 welded to a plate fixed below the inner drawbar frame 11. Then when the trailer eye is over the hook 81 the drawbar frame with the hook is raised, the eye being held in the hook by the rod 21 fixed across the outer frame 10.
