Abstract

[Also in Division F1] A machine provided with at least two rotatable rollers pressed against each other, at least one of the rollers being mounted in displaceable bearings co-operating with hydraulic cylinders is characterized by the presence, in the control circuit for the hydraulic cylinders, of a control cylinder comprised of two sections of different diameter having a piston operative in each section but linked together to displace fluid simultaneously from each section into conduits leading to the corresponding hydraulic cylinders. The piston dimensions and control cylinder diameters are chosen to provide equal volumes of fluid to each hydraulic cylinder. The main circuit preferably contains an hydraulic/pneumatic double piston pressure translator, one piston surface being connected to a source of compressed air, the other piston surface being connected to the hydraulic cylinders co-operating with the rollers. The rollers may form part of an embossing or printing machine.
