Abstract

1,239,786. Washing dishes, &c. INDUSTRIAL WASHING MACHINE CORP. 15 Oct., 1968 [30 Oct., 1967], No. 48774/68. Heading A4F. Articles such as laboratory cages, breadbaking pans and racks are cleaned in a machine in which they are carried, in a holder 17, by a rotating turntable 18 and sprayed with washing liquid from one or more spray heads 29, rotatable about a horizontal or other axis which is at an angle greater than 45 degrees to the axis of rotation of the turntable 18. The washing liquid is circulated through the spray heads 29 by a pump 27 from a tank 23 which may contain heating coils. Rinsing liquid and steam are discharged on to the washed articles via nozzles 42 on a pipe 41. The machine housing 10 has an exhaust port 11 for release of steam and vapour which may be connected to a fan system. The turntable 18 is rotated by an electric motor 47 (Fig. 3, not shown) via reduction gearing, and the spray heads 29 are rotated by the reaction of the jets discharged therefrom.
