[Also in Division F1] In a boiler having an induced draught fan 6 mounted on the boiler wall, the fan 6 and its driving motor 20 are moved to and fro so that the chimney draught can be varied by varying the amount by which a sleeve 9 in the flue outlet of the boiler overlaps the inlet flow passages of the fan impeller. The fan 6 and motor 20 are secured to supports 17, 18 moving on slide rods 22, and a servomotor 23 drives a screw 26 co-operating with a nut 28 in a member 29 secured to the slides 22. The servomotor 23 may be controlled by the pressure within the fire-box, or may be manually controlled. The screw may be operated manually when the servomotor is switched off.
