Abstract

1,238,731. Stacking; feeding endless conveyers. DAVY & UNITED ENG. CO. Ltd. 13 Jan., 1969 [24 Jan., 1968], No. 3675/68. Headings B8A and B8C. Metal plates 36 are delivered from rollers 12 to a stack 42 on a conveyer or trolley 41 by means of a cantilever support 17, projecting from a carriage 14 having wheels 15 running in rails 16, the support 17 being retracted to the left-hand position by cable 25, lifted through its rail 16 and lever 21 to raise the plate from the rollers 12, and then moved to the position shown to enable the plate to be lifted by suction or magnetic heads 40 so that it can be placed on the stack when the support has again been retracted. Several such supports may be used for wide plates.
