Abstract

[Also in Division F2] Two forms of a clamp which may be expanded to grip the internal surface of a pipe 2 are described. In a first form, Fig. 8, a frusto conical member 15, carried by a cable 1À3, may be moved to the right to expand an annular rubber sleeve 16 having a tapered bore 17. The sleeve is located between washers 18 fixed on rods 19 which prevent movement of the sleeve to the right. In a second form, Fig. 14, a sleeve 31, sealed at 32 to a tube 13 may be expanded by compressed air led through the bore of the. tube and opening 33.
