Abstract
1,238,570. Sewing machine covers. SINGER CO. 21 Oct., 1969 [25 Oct., 1968], No. 51646/69. Heading A4B. A cover 11 of a sewing machine case includes a compartment 23 defined between an end wall 15 and a panel 32 extending between front and rear cover walls 17, 18, the panel 32 having a hinged portion 36 which closes the bottom access opening to the compartment and which has an aperture 37 to detachably receive the end 38 of a latch spring 39 to which manual access may be had through a further aperture 41 to effect release. The upper part 33 of the panel 39 is engaged between pairs of guides 26, 27 and 28, 29 on the front and rear walls 17, 18 and includes a flexible tab 44 which is locked to a projection 42 depending from the top wall 14. An instruction manual may be supported by formations 48, 49, 52, 58, 55 on the rear wall 18.
