Abstract

1,237,774. Vertical waste-heat boilers. KAWASAKI JUKOGYO K.K. 11 July, 1968 [14 Feb., 1968], No. 33130/68. Heading F4A. In a vertical waste-heat boiler the downcomer pipes 2 are arranged inside riser pipes 3 where they penetrate the upper wall of the boiler and the side wall of the boiler and the downcomer pipes 2 therealong are shielded by a water wall 7. The downcomers 2 lead to a distributer 6 connected to the pipes of the wall 7 and to convection pipes 8 which lead to a collector 11 from which the risers 3, 12 lead to the drum 1. The heating medium is process gas entering at 9 and leaving at 10. The inner row of pipes 8 may form a by-pass conduit controlled by a by-pass valve therein.
