Novel salt (I) is formed from 2 moles of l(-)-1,- 2 - diphenyl - 3 - methyl - 4 - dmiethylaminobutanol-(2)-propionic acid ester and 1 mole of 2,6 - di - tert. - butylnaphthalene - 4,8 - disulphonic acid. Pharmaceutical preparations exhibiting antitussive and expectorant broncholytic properties contain I as active ingredient.
