A contact for a printed circuit edge connector . is formed by swaging and work hardening a wire or strip 21 of non-circular cross-section and comprises a tail 26 which retains the original section and leads through a transition portion 29 of continuously decreasing section modulus to a finger 27 which is curved to form a contact portion 30 and an end 31 notched at 24. The contacts are located in housings, in facing pairs, the tails 26 being secured in apertures by upset corners 61. The ends 31 are engaged behind abutments to locate the contacts with a space between the portions 30 into which a printed circuit board is inserted.
