Abstract

1,237,079. Dyeable copolyester. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 2 Dec., 1968 [5 Dec., 1967], No. 55314/67. Heading C3R. A dyeable film or fibre-forming copolyester is derived from at least 2 glycols, wherein one glycol is a poly(alkylene oxide), 0À5 to 10% of the structural units of the copolyester being organic radicals containing at least one sulphonate group in the form of the metal salt. Suitably 1-15% of the copolyester units are derived from a poly(alkylene oxide) of molecular weight 500-6000. Specified components are : glycols of formula HO(CH 2 ) n OH, where n=2-10 and 1,4 - bis(hydroxymethyl)cyclohexane; polyethylene oxide; terephthalic acid and bis-1: 2- (p-carboxyphenoxy) ethane; and 5-sulphoisophthalic acid.
