Abstract

1,236,442. Masted lift trucks. LANSING BAGNALL Ltd. 2 Sept., 1969 [6 June, 1968], No. 26974/68. Heading B8H. A lifting and lowering device, such as the truck disclosed in Specification 945,556, having a lifting member mounted on a carriage carried by a mast and movable upwardly to any one of a plurality of stations at predetermined fixed heights is characterized by additional means to give a small, fixed, extra lift. As shown, operation of a valve 14 to the " lift " position causes fluid to be fed to a carriage-lifting ram 10, the valve 14 being returned automatically to neutral at the selected height. Operation of the valve 15 to its " lift " position causes fluid to be fed to end 16 of a cylinder 17 forcing a free piston 18 to the right so that the fixed volume of fluid in the end 19 is forced into the ram 10 to give the additional lift to the carriage.
