1,236,036. Preserving dilute sugarcontaining solutions. F. & M. SCHAEFER BREWING CO. and WASHING CHEMICAL CORP. 28 Nov., 1968 [13 Dec., 1967], No. 56629/68. Heading A2D. "Sweet water" solutions containing from 1 to 50% by weight of fermentable sugar are preserved against loss of sugar values due to microbial growth, by admixing therewith from 5 to 50 parts per million of n-heptyl p-hydroxybenzoic acid or an alkali metal or alkaline earth salt thereof.
