Abstract

1,235,861. Pouches. H. FOCKE. 14 June, 1968, No. 28493/68. Heading A4G. A bag formed of at least one layer of plastics web on which plastics strips 18, 19, Fig. 1, of distinct dipole characteristics and coated with a sealing adhesive activated above a certain temperature and non-adhesive' below that temperature are provided, the web being folded at 13 so that the strips coincide and cut and sealed at 14 and 15 to form a pocket over which the flap 12a may fold and be fixed with adhesive tape. The pouch is filled and the strips sealed together to close the bag using capacitative high frequency electrodes 21, 22, Fig. 3, and the contents are made available by pulling on extension 13a of wall 13 to tear open the seal. A tear open bag may be welded to wall 12 or 13 and sealed to wall 13 or 12. An embodiment not claimed comprises an electrically conductive tear wire 24 (Fig. 9, not shown) having a protruding end which is heated by a current to seal it directly to walls 12, 13, whereby the mouth 17 may be opened by tearing the wire from its seal.
