Abstract

123,579. Davis, R. H. Feb. 26, 1918. Inhalers and respirators.-A breathing-mask for the use of aviators and others comprises a chamber a covering the nose and mouth formed of soft copper or other ductile material so that it may be made to conform closely to the face of the user. The chamber is mounted on a strip e of soft leather, which may form a lining for the chamber and is fitted with an oxygen-inlet pipe b and with airinlet apertures c, c covered by ducts or louvers d so as to prevent air from impinging directly on the face. The pipe b may extend within the mask so as to enter the mouth, and, in this case, is perforated for the admission of air with the oxygen. In a modification, the louvers d extend laterally on the mask.
