Abstract

1,234,401. Expansion joints. RUBBER & PLASTICS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRITAIN. 23 July, 1968 [1 Aug., 1967], No. 35257/67. Heading E1B. Synthetic plastics inserts 11, 16 for sealing joints between concrete panels are formed integrally with stress oriented hinges 17, i.e. the molecular orientation is across the hinge line and is produced by post forming the extruded strip. The tubular insert 11 may contain leaf springs to expand it outwardly to fill the joint. The surfaces of the insert and the end surfaces of the panels may be coated with P.V.C. or neoprene.
