Abstract

1,234,182. Extrusion dies. MORDERN PLASTIC MACHINERY CORP (U.K.) Ltd. 19 June, 1968 [20 June, 1967], No. 28306/67. Heading B5A. A tube-extrusion die head comprises a mandrel 5 which defines with body portion 1, channels 7, annular chambers 8, 9, a restricted passageway 10 and an orifice passageway 11. Channels 7 communicate with input duct 12 and the restriction in passageway 10 only extends over part of the length thereof in the extrusion direction. Mandrel 5 is secured to body 1 by screws 6 which allow easy removal of the mandrel for cleaning purposes, and both the mandrel and body are of two-part construction with members 1A and 5A defining chamber 9 and orifice 11. Provided are a pre-heater 13, band heaters 14 and thermocouples 15.
