1,000,809. Extruding pipes. J. OAKES & CO. (RIDDINGS) Ltd. Nov. 2, 1961 [Nov. 2, 1960], No. 37721/60. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] A pipe, e.g. of clay, having two walls 10, 12 joined by integral, helical ribs 14 is formed by extrusion through a die comprising an outer member 20, an inner cone 22 and an annular cone 24, the latter being formed of segments, three shown at 26, 28, 30, tapered at their ends to form converging inlet passages 36 and spaced to provide rib-forming passages 38. The outer member 20 is formed with helical teeth 40 which co-operate with helical grooving 42 on the inner cone 22 to rotate the extruded walls with the ribs.
