Abstract

1,000,202. Forming hollow articles. HOFFCO S.A. April 3, 1964 [April 29, 1963], No. 13879/64. Heading B5A. Deep hollow bodies are drawn from a sheet of heat-softened thermoplastic material by a punch 4, 5, 6, which co-operates with a suitably shaped hollow cylindrical die 1. The central portion of the sheet contacted by the ports 4 and 6 of the punch is drawn to a lesser degree, i.e. is thicker, than the peripheral portion of the sheet, which is drawn to form the cylindrical wall 2 of the body. The head portion 3, of the body is compression moulded from said thicker portion of the sheet by parts 4 and 6 of the punch upon full entry of the punch into the die.
