Abstract
1,233,984. Valves. T. F. BRAATHEN. 25 April, 1969, No. 21162/69. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F4] A check valve comprises a valve disc 12, Fig. 5, pressed against its seat 24 by a spring 15. A limited return flow is permitted either through a clearance between the valve disc 12 and the spindle on which it slides or, as shown, through a passage 20, 21 in the spindle, a disc or ball type check valve 22 being provided in the passage. As shown, the spindle may form part of the spindle 11 of a stop cock. When the stop cock is closed, a flat surface or, as shown, a conical surface 17 engages a corresponding surface 16 and the valve disc 12 is held against the seat 24.
