Abstract

In a yarn tube A having a reinforcing ferrule over the nose end, the ferrule B is open ended and made of metal or plastics material, the outer diameter of the ferrule lying flush with the outer surface of the tube. The nose end of the ferrule is radiused as at b, over the end of the tube and the skirt is burnished or spun over to enter a peripheral groove a in the tube. The tube is preferably moulded of reduced diameter at the nose end to accommodate the ferrule.
