Abstract

A traveller for ring-spinning is made of nylon reinforced with at least 20%, and preferably up to 40%, of glass fibres; these are distributed substantially uniformly throughout the traveller with the exception of a small depth on the surface which is free of fibres and arises during manufacture. The fibres are about 3/8 ths inch long and lie in the circumferential direction. The traveller is made by injection-moulding using pellets each containing a bundle of fibres embedded in nylon.
