Abstract
1,232,538. Self-tapping screws. AUTOMATINDUSTRIER I GAVLE A.B. 7 July, 1969 [11 July, 1968], No. 34105/69. Heading B3N. [Also in Division F2] A plug, as shown or cap, Fig. 6, not shown, for blocking a water pipe during pressure testing, with one or more relatively sharp threads 14, co-operates with the water pipe, the threads biting into the pipe surface; the plug or cap has a sealing ring 15 pressing against the pipe and has one or more closable venting passages 16. The pitch of the threads 14 is substantially greater than the thread breadth and height. The' venting passage 16 is closed by a threaded spigot 17. The plug has two mutually angled transverse bores 20, 21 for the insertion of a tool for rotating the plug into the pipe end.
