Abstract

1,232,379. Window frames, glazing. ALUMINIUM-WALZWERKE SINGEL G.m.b.H. 10 Oct., 1969 [15 Oct., 1968], No. 49849/69. Headings E1J and EIR. A metal frame of U-shaped cross-section has a lower part 2 mounted on and secured by resilient latches to a rail 5, the rail being of U-shaped cross-section and fixed to masonry 6. Part 2 is formed with recesses 10 receiving the ends of resilient plastics latch members 7 which engage over flanges 8, 9 on the rail 5. A further latch 20 secures weather strip 15. Panes 1 are mounted on an elastic strip 21 having a central depression 22 and slots 45 allowing passage of water to drainage holes 23, whence it flows onto strip 15. Elastic glazing strips 24 and putty also support the panes 1. The frame is made up of sections with overlapping expansion plates 27, and the panes 1 are of U-shaped cross-section.
