Abstract

A multi-glazing unit comprises panes 1, 2 held in spaced parallel relationship by a T-section frame 41 and strips 9, 10 of polysulphide rubber which retains its resilient non-porous properties and adheres and seals to the glass and to the frame 12 in which the unit is put, the rubber enabling the unit to be installed in the window frame without putty, as by a wooden fillet 13. The rubber is applied also between the spacer 41 and the marginal portions of the panes and between external flanges of the <PICT:1113482/C1/1> base 411 of the spacer and edges of the panes. A channel-shaped edging strip 15 surrounds the edges of the unit with the flanges thereof embedded in the strips 9, 10. A layer of polysulphide rubber 16 may be provided between the base 411 of the spacer and the confronting side of the frame.
