Abstract

1,231,264. Ornamenting. A. F. A. DEPARDAY. 24 June, 1968 [22 June, 1967], No. 30035/68. Heading B6G. A system for producing a decorative panel comprises as shown in Fig. 1 a support formed by a sheet of wide-mesh fabric 2 of the canvas type and consisting of threads 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and 9, 9<SP>1</SP> following each other in pairs, crossed at right angles to form alternately square holes 10 and rectangular holes 11 between them, and a series of decorative elements 1 each formed by a square-base head and a shank intended to penetrate into the square holes. The shank is formed as shown in Fig. 2 by a cone frustum 7 joined with its small base to the head 3 and with its large base to the base of cone 8 to form an enlargement of greater diameter than the width of the square holes at an intermediate point of the length of the shank. The head 3 may have the form of a square-base pyramid. The decorative elements may consist of moulded plastics, transparent or translucent. The decorative panels may simulate tapestry or stained glass windows.
